The Henry Ford Health System, Department of Urology, is seeking a highly-motivated, energetic post-doctoral research fellow to work on a novel mechanism of cancer drug resistance in a modern, state of the art working facility. This post-doctoral position is funded by the United States Federal Grants to study cancer cell survival signaling, oncogene regulation, and developmental therapeutics using prostate, lung and pancreatic cancer as models. The successful candidate is expected to apply biochemical and molecular biological techniques (Western blot, RT-PCR, IHC, gene expression) and gene knockout mice to investigate the role of Tribbles 2 oncogene in the development and progression of drug resistant type of cancers. Prior experience in drug testing using cell culture as well as various orthotopic, transgenic, and patient-derived xenograft models will be a plus. Preference will be given to candidates having extensive experience in signal transduction research and in handling small animals for therapeutic development.
