Institute: The Multidisciplinary Institute of Ageing is the first Centre of Excellence devoted to the molecular and cellular basis of ageing in Southern Europe. The goal is to bridge the gap between fundamental research and its translation into human intervention, with a mission to improve the health and wellbeing of the ageing population. In the coming weeks, we'll have multiple exciting positions opening. For updates and to explore all available opportunities, please visit our website.
Position: MIA-Portugal is actively recruiting 3 Postdoctoral researchers for the Fly Coimbra Lab (FlyCab), led by Alessio Vagnoni, a newly established facility at MIA-Portugal, at the University of Coimbra, Portugal.
The lab: The FlyCab uses Drosophila melanogaster to study the complexity of neuronal cell biology, focusing on understanding how intracellular trafficking influences neuronal function, and its role in healthy ageing and neurodegeneration. The aim of the research group is also to expand the Drosophila studies into mammalian neurons, combining advanced microscopy approaches and tool development. For more information about the FlyCab and selected publications please click here.
Scientific area: Ageing, Cell Biology, Neurobiology
