About This Opportunity
The Thomas Group is at the forefront of collaborative research in autoimmune disease, partnering with statisticians, computational biologists, immunologists, and rheumatologists to analyse clinical trial and cohort data. Our investigations encompass a wide array of methodologies including multiplex serum proteomics, flow cytometry, and various 'omics data, employing both novel and established statistical approaches and modelling techniques.
We are currently seeking a dedicated Postdoctoral Research Fellow with strong R programming skills and a deep understanding of biological data contexts. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, adept at mentoring team members and post-graduate students alike. This role offers an exciting opportunity to focus on expanding expertise and developing a prominent research profile within their discipline, including potential for international collaboration.
In addition to advancing research initiatives, the successful applicant will be expected to contribute to service and engagement roles, further enhancing their professional development and impact within the scientific community.

About You
Completion of a PhD in in statistics, or interdisciplinary computational statistics research in genomics or a related area.
An excellent research record relative to career stage including a strong record of publication in statistical applications in the life sciences, the ability to develop research links with other institutions nationally and/or internationally.
Strong computer programming skills in R and experience in software development.
Experience in multivariate statistical analysis
Knowledge of mammalian molecular biology and genomics
Excellent interpersonal and both written and oral communication skills.
Experience in analysing large ‘omics data sets would be desirable
Experience in longitudinal analysis desirable
Fluent versioning best practices desirable
