About This Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Level A) or Research Fellow (Level B) to engage in the Brain Health in Schools Project. The goal of this project is to scope, co-design and co-deliver a Brain Health focused workforce development package and complementary set of resources for students in primary and secondary schools.
Specifically, the project aims to:
Scope - existing and emerging opportunities for embedding Brain Health for workforces and students in primary and secondary schools;
Co-design and co-develop - tools, materials, and approaches for embedding Brain Health via a workforce development package and related resources for students in primary secondary schools;
Deliver - pilot implementation and evaluation of this co-designed workforce development packages and resources across target sites within Queensland.
The team has a strong commitment to grow the research profile of early and mid-career researchers to achieve national recognition – supporting engagement with industry and research fellowships.
Key responsibilities will include (Level A and Level B):
Research: Establish a research program, collaborate on research projects, seek and manage research funding, publish in reputable journals, utilize best practice research methodologies, and participate in project discussions.
Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise students, recruit and manage employees, provide performance feedback and training, resolve conflicts, and ensure correct remuneration and benefits.
Citizenship and Service: Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values.

About You
Appointment at Level A: Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Completion or near completion of a PhD in education, psychology, educational psychology, or allied health – noting current focus project include work in co-design and delivery of brain health program in primary and secondary schools in Queensland.
Experience and demonstrated ability in the co-design of research and research evaluations
Experience conducting and delivering research with educators and children in school-based settings
An emerging profile in research in education, child development or related fields
Evidence of publications in reputed refereed journals and conference presentations
Evidence of contributions towards successfully obtaining external research funding
Some experience in meaningful internal service roles in conjunction with active contributions to external activities.
Appointment at Level B: Research Fellow
All criteria listed above, as well as the following:
A PhD in education, psychology, educational psychology, or allied health – noting current focus project include work in co-design and delivery of brain health program in primary and secondary schools in Queensland.
A developing reputation and track record of publications in reputed refereed journals and conference presentations
Evidence of successfully seeking, obtaining, and managing external research funding
A growing record of supervision of Honours and Research Higher Degree students to successful completion
Experience in meaningful internal service roles in conjunction with active contributions to external activities.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre- employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, education check, blue card check, etc.
