The Physics Department at Central Michigan University (CMU) is seeking an outstanding candidate for a postdoctoral position in the area of electronic structure theory development. The successful candidates will work with Professors Koblar A. Jackson and Juan E. Peralta, contributing to an exciting, large-scale effort to remove self-interaction errors from density functional theory using the Fermi-Löwdin orbital self-interaction correction (FLO-SIC) approach. The work will have a strong focus on FORTRAN code development and will involve collaborating with researchers at Temple University and the University of Texas at El Paso.
Required Qualifications
· Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related discipline and a background in electronic structure theory earned within the last six years.
· Experience in FORTRAN programming.
· Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will have experience working on high-performance computing platforms.

The CMU Physics Department offers B.S., B.S. in Ed., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in physics and participates in the interdisciplinary Ph.D. in the Science of Advanced Materials.
