Postdoctoral Fellow (m/f/x) in Cellular / Structural Biology “Machineries in Adaptive Immunity”
(E 13 TV-G-U)
initially funded for a period of 5 years with the option of extension. The salary grade is based on the job characteristics of the collective agreement applicable to Goethe University (TV-G-U).
Tasks:
We are looking for a postdoc to investigate the molecular machineries and protein complexes controlling cell membrane dynamics in health and disease. Integrating biochemical / structural and cell biological approaches, the Tampé Lab seeks to cross cellular boundaries to decode the function and interplay of molecular machineries that direct the fundamental functionality of the immune system. Be part of an ambitious team that aspires to unravel the scientific world’s pressing question of how viral or malignant factors come to evade immune surveillance.

You will be given the opportunity to design your own project independently and to choose from a variety of interesting scientific questions and techniques, as well as to lead collaborations at national and international level.
Your qualification:
We seek talented scientists with a PhD in biochemistry or a related field, ideally demonstrating a solid track record of accomplishments / publications and proven experience in protein purification and structural studies. The working language is English, excellent skills in both academic writing and oral communication are prerequisites. We expect creative thinking and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively so as to lead a small team of students.
